Description

Overview
The 983 calibration plate is a lightweight portable system designed for calibrating surface sensors. The plate is precision-machined from aluminium. The sensor under test is placed on the flat surface. For improved accuracy, a calibrated reference sensor can be placed adjacent for comparison.

Operation
Thermal contact is provided by the recessed flat disk, allowing the optional use of thermal paste or liquid to enhance heat transfer with the sensor under test. Uniform temperature distribution is ensured by the flat spiral heater embedded in the block beneath the test surface. Typical accuracy is 1°C but depends on the type of sensor being calibrated. The internal control temperature sensor is located directly under the test surface. A protective cover is supplied as standard with the user manual.

Temperature range and controller
Regulated temperature range from 35°C to 350°C. The unit is controlled by a fine, easy-to-use controller; resolution 0.01 below 100°C (0.1 above).
