DescriptionMedusa 511 is a temperature probe calibrator for probes from 50°C up to 700°C. It provides a large calibration volume with a 45 mm diameter and 285 mm depth. Optional accessories convert the unit for surface sensor calibration, a blackbody source for infrared thermometer calibration and an ITS-90 Fixed Points system with calibration uncertainties down to 0.001°C.
Zones and operationIn addition to the main temperature zone, two auxiliary zones at top and bottom compensate end losses to maintain a stable temperature inside the insert. For comparison calibrations, Medusa 511 is used with an insert. The standard insert includes six 8 mm diameter wells with 250 mm depth. An alternative insert (44 mm diameter × 170 mm depth) is available and suspends from the top of the bath with user-adjustable height.
Versions- MEDUSA 511 B (Basic): controller displays setpoint and temperature measured by the control sensor. Supplied as standard with the 6-well insert (Ø 8 mm, depth 250 mm), Cal Notepad software, serial communication cable, user manual and traceability certificate.
- MEDUSA 511 S (Site): in addition to model B functions, includes a second digital indicator for reference probe, universal temperature input (Pt100 and thermocouples Types K, N, R, S, L, B, PL2, T, J, E), programmable up to 5 calibration points, a timer to control bath transitions and automate ITS-90 fixed point sequences. The indicator and controller are accessible via communication interfaces.
