Description

Short description
Thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) records sample mass change versus temperature or time to characterize thermal stability, composition and decomposition behavior. Intended for R&D, process optimisation and quality control in plastics, rubber, coatings, pharmaceuticals, catalysts, inorganic and metal materials, and composites.

Measurements and material characteristics
  • Thermal stability and decomposition temperatures
  • Decomposition processes and residue analysis
  • Adsorption and desorption behaviour
  • Oxidation and reduction reactions
  • Quantitative composition analysis
  • Influence of additives and fillers
  • Moisture and volatile content
  • Reaction kinetics

Structural features
  • Furnace heated by double-row Ni–Cr alloy winding to reduce interference and provide high temperature resistance
  • Sensor tray made of Ni–Cr alloy for improved high-temperature and corrosion resistance
  • Separated power supply and heat-dissipation units to minimise thermal and vibration influence on the microbalance
  • Open-top furnace design for easy operation and sample handling
  • Host isolated by a water-zone constant-temperature device to stabilise chassis and microbalance
  • Replaceable furnace module configurable to customer requirements

Controller and software features
  • 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 processor for fast sampling and processing
  • 24-bit multi-channel ADC captures DSC, TG and temperature signals
  • Independent control of power and water-circulation units to avoid mutual interference
  • USB bidirectional communication enabling remote control, parameter setting and start/stop from PC
  • 7-inch full-colour 24-bit touchscreen with on-screen TG calibration
