Product overview
PA-2000BI is an image analysis system composed of an optical microscope, digital CCD camera, dedicated image processing and analysis software, computer and printer. It provides morphological visualization and quantitative characterization of powders to complement laser particle size analysis and improve process and quality control.

Particle image test principle
Particles are captured as images on the sensor; each pixel represents a defined size. By detecting particle outlines and counting pixels per particle, the system computes equivalent-area diameter, aspect ratio and circularity for each particle, then aggregates results to generate particle size and shape distributions.

Main process of image analysis
The sample is magnified by the microscope and imaged by the camera. Images are transferred to the computer where the software identifies particles and calculates number, area, perimeter, diameter, volume and morphological parameters. Output includes distributions for aspect ratio, circularity, particle size and statistical metrics such as D10, D50, D90, D97, mean particle size and surface area.

Report output

• After image processing the system automatically counts particles and provides area, perimeter, volume, diameter, circularity distribution, aspect ratio distribution and particle size distribution with characteristic values such as D10, D50, D90, D97, mean particle size and surface area.
• Reports can include a color thumbnail of the sample; header fields can show sample name, testing unit and dispersion medium. Multiple report formats are selectable.
