Description

Product overview
The VECTOR 1300/1400 series is a vertical machining center designed for machining very large and heavy workpieces. A Meehanite cast base with low centre of gravity and premium components provide stable precision for multi-shift production. Extensive accessory and automation options allow configuration to specific production workflows.

Highlights
  • Multi-bearing spindle for reduced vibration
  • 30-bar spindle coolant for optimized chip evacuation
  • Designed for multi-shift industrial operation
  • Extensive customization and automation options
  • 2-year standard warranty

Machine design
  • Extra-wide column base and large guide distances for rigidity during fast, high-precision machining
  • Frame engineered using FEM simulations to ensure stability under realistic load conditions
  • All axes run on fully enclosed linear roller guideways with precision ball screws driven by dynamic servo motors

Extra-rigidity
  • Oversized guideways with additional guide carriages for higher load capacity and torsional stiffness
  • Preloaded ball screws with larger bearings for improved efficiency and durability

Spindle
  • Main spindle supported on multiple bearings to absorb and dissipate cutting forces
  • Design minimizes heat accumulation under load
  • Large preloaded bearings ensure radial stability in heavy cutting
  • High-temperature lubricants for reliable lubrication and long service life
  • Tool clamping on taper and flange contact surfaces for secure retention

Tool changer
  • High-performance dual-arm tool changer for maximum utilization of the machining center
  • Tool-change time tool/tool around 1.8 s; chip/chip around 3.9 s (dependent on configuration)
  • Standard 24-station magazine (expandable/optional)

Handling and accessibility
  • Fully enclosed work area with large front door and side openings for access, safety and cleanliness
  • Electrical cabinets separated for high and low voltage to reduce heat build-up and noise
  • Electronic handwheel for simplified setup
  • Automatic central lubrication system covering all lubrication points

CNC equipment and software
  • Standard control: Siemens (e.g. SINUMERIK 828D); advanced control options available
  • Software functions available: simulation, advanced surface cycles, measurement cycles, DXF reader, dynamic functions depending on configuration

Technical specifications
