IntroductionThe Grade 100 Double Base Weld-on Ring is designed as a permanent high-capacity lifting point for heavy equipment and structures. Its double-base geometry increases weld surface area for improved structural integrity under repeated and extreme loads.
Material and manufacturingManufactured from high-resistance alloy steel with quenching and tempering to optimize grain structure. Components receive an epoxy finish for corrosion protection and improved visibility in industrial environments.
Precision forging and quality controlEach ring is precision-forged to ensure dimensional consistency. 100% of parts undergo Magnaflux (electromagnetic) crack detection. Fatigue rating reaches 20,000 cycles at 1.5× WLL. Production batches are proof-load tested to 2.5× WLL.
Operational and safety advantages- Optimized load distribution: Double-base design spreads welding stresses across two zones to reduce localised stress concentration.
- Flexible alignment: 180° pivot allows the ring to self-align with sling pull, minimising side-loading.
- Integrated drainage: Base includes water discharge area to avoid moisture retention at the weld interface.
- High visibility finish: Epoxy coating protects against corrosion and aids operator identification.
- Service statement: Anchorage clamp rated for up to 20,000 lifts at full load (per product statement).
- Bracket alignment: Must be installed aligned to pulling direction with a tolerance of ±10°.

Note: Working Load Limit (WLL) is based on a 4:1 design factor. For asymmetric loads, capacity must be reduced according to reference reduction tables.
Standards and testing- EN 1677-1: forged steel components for slings (modified for Grade 100 performance).
- ASTM A952 / A952M: forged Grade 100 alloy steel lifting components.
- DIN PAS 1061: requirements for Grade 100 lifting chains and accessories.
- AS 3776: lifting components for Grade V (100) chain slings.
- Proof testing: production batches tested to 2.5× WLL.
- Design factor: 4:1 maintained (Minimum Breaking Load = 4× WLL).
- Fatigue testing: 20,000 cycles at 1.5× WLL.
- Magnaflux: 100% electromagnetic crack detection on all forged rings.
- Welding requirements: full-perimeter weld by qualified welder; leave water discharge area as indicated.
Maintenance and inspection- Visual inspection: check for weld cracks, deformation, corrosion, or excessive wear before each use.
- Alignment: verify bracket alignment within ±10° of pulling direction.
- Replacement criteria: remove from service if wear exceeds 10% of original dimensions or if any cracks are detected.
