Product overview
Sinus D is the largest series in the universal lathes segment. The design follows a classic layout based on a heavy one-piece cast machine bed. Power transmission between motor and spindle is via a manual multi-plate clutch. Integrated functions such as a removable bed bridge, rapid traverse and a taper turning device enable optional solutions for machining long workpieces or large flanges.

Machine bed
Maximum stability: the machine rests on a heavy, generously dimensioned bed on a solid one-piece cast base frame to effectively reduce vibrations.
Lasting accuracy: bed guideways are induction hardened and ground (>HB 400) to ensure long-term precision and low wear.

Headstock and feed gear
Precision under load: the headstock design ensures high accuracy and smooth running even at high cutting rates.
Large spindle bore: 105 mm spindle bore suits machining of long shafts and pipes.
Proven drive: mechanical multi-plate clutch provides smooth spindle start-up, ideal for accelerating heavy workpieces.

Support
Reduced non-productive time: the support can be moved in both longitudinal and transverse directions in rapid traverse to increase productivity.
Operator protection: integrated overload protection for the feed screw and lead screw prevents damage from incorrect operation or collisions.
Protected design: the lead screw is covered to minimize wear caused by chips and contamination.

Tailstock
Tailstock quill fitted with a robust, easy-to-read scale.
Long quill stroke allows complex drilling and centering operations.
Lateral adjustment of the tailstock enables machining of conical shafts between centers.
