Product overview
The NT 151-RE-RE is a Real-Time Ethernet gateway for bidirectional I/O data exchange between two industrial Real-Time Ethernet networks. Manufactured by Hilscher, the device supports integration of homogeneous and heterogeneous networks and enables data mapping between primary and secondary networks for Master/Slave or Slave/Slave configurations.

Operation and architecture
Two independent Ethernet controllers, each with two dual RJ45 ports and integrated switching, provide secure separation of networks. Star, ring and inline topologies are supported without additional hardware. Controllers exchange only mapped I/O data via a data buffer, with typical data processing time below 10 ms. Firmware can be preloaded or later uploaded (e.g. via SD card); a USB diagnostic port is provided for commissioning and troubleshooting.
