A netHOST FB is a full-featured, autonomously operating Fieldbus master that enables industrial PCs and embedded systems to control PROFIBUS networks via an Ethernet LAN connection. A TCP/IP-based transport protocol transfers services between the controlling unit and the device. A Windows DLL and a C source driver are provided; both use the same API as Hilscher cifX PC cards for straightforward integration.
100 bytes of process data inputs and outputs can be transmitted over the LAN in approximately one millisecond. Acyclic services to subordinate Fieldbus stations are supported. Bus configuration software is included with the delivery.
