Overview
netTAP 100 connects communication networks and functions as a gateway for conversions between a 2-port Real-Time Ethernet protocol and a fieldbus or serial automation protocol, as well as between two fieldbus protocols or between a fieldbus and a serial protocol. Licensed Master functionality is unrestricted. A removable memory card slot stores firmware and configuration data for fast device exchange; in case of failure operation can be resumed within seconds by inserting the card into a spare unit. The device supports implementation of custom serial protocols using the Lua-based netSCRIPT; a full development environment is included for protocol implementation and I/O preprocessing during conversion.
