Product Description
As directly mountable DIN-rail devices, the netLINK-MPI and netTAP-MPI adapters replace dedicated CP communication processors and enable programming, visualization and control of S7-200®, S7-300® and S7-400® PLCs via Ethernet. The supplied driver integrates the device as a programming device (PG) into SIMATIC S7 engineering tools such as STEP7 or TIA Portal. Configuration is possible from the engineering tool or via standard web browsers using the embedded web server. Once connected to the plant or company network and to the internet, remote maintenance and logging across network boundaries via router and TCP/IP are supported. The adapters enable direct Ethernet coupling of multiple PLCs and allow coupling of S7-compatible HMIs even when a PLC lacks an Ethernet port. Integrated PROFIBUS diagnostics and Master Class 2 DPV1 services permit complete DP slave configuration and parameterization in STEP7. Power is provided by a 24 V DC connector; the S7 PLC can directly supply the netLINK-MPI connector, which passes contacts 1:1 to keep downstream devices on the same MPI/DP bus operational.
