Overview
The cifX PC card family provides a unified standard for Real-Time Ethernet and Fieldbus systems in PC-based automation. The protocol stack executes autonomously on the PC card and exchanges process data with the host via DPM or DMA. Thanks to the common Hilscher Platform Strategy, all cards use the same drivers and tools regardless of protocol or card format. The netX technology enables multiple Real-Time Ethernet protocols on a single hardware platform; a protocol is changed by loading different firmware. Hardware options include various cable lengths, M12 connectors, additional NVRAM, extended temperature ranges, 2-channel cards and detached network interfaces. A wide range of device drivers and a free C-Toolkit are available for integration.
