Overview
The cifX PC card family provides a unified standard for Real-Time Ethernet and Fieldbus on PC-based automation. The protocol stack runs autonomously on the card and exchanges process data with the host via dual-port memory (DPM) or DMA. The netX hardware platform allows protocol changes by loading different firmware and enables a common driver and toolset across protocols and card formats. Multiple hardware options (cable lengths, M12 connectors, additional NVRAM, extended temperature versions, 2-channel cards, detached network interfaces) enable tailored system integration.
