Overview
The cifX PC card family provides a unified hardware platform for PC-based automation supporting Real-Time Ethernet and Fieldbus systems. Protocol stacks run autonomously on the card; process data is exchanged with the host via dual-port memory or DMA. Thanks to the Hilscher netX technology and a common platform strategy, protocol functionality is selectable via firmware and all cards use the same drivers and tools, simplifying integration into industrial systems.
