OverviewThe cifX PC board family is a unified standard supporting Real-Time Ethernet and Fieldbus systems for PC-based automation. The protocol stack runs autonomously on the board; data exchange with the host is performed via Dual-Port Memory (DPM) or direct memory access (DMA). netX technology enables Real-Time Ethernet protocols on a single hardware platform and allows protocol changes by loading different firmware.

Extended descriptionThe CIFX 50E-2DN (cifX PCI 2-channel) board implements communication control in hardware/firmware (netX 100). Hardware options include additional NVRAM, M12 connectors, various cable lengths and two-channel variants. All cifX boards use the same Hilscher driver and toolset, simplifying integration and maintenance. A free C-Toolkit is available for development.
