Overview
The cifX PC card family is the unified standard supporting all Real-Time Ethernet and Fieldbus systems for PC-based automation. The protocol stack runs autonomously on the card and process data are exchanged with the host via Dual-Port Memory (DPM) or DMA. All PC cards use the same driver and tools regardless of protocol and card format. netX technology enables implementation of all Real-Time Ethernet protocols on a single hardware platform and allows protocol changes by loading different firmware.

Extended description
The cifX family offers numerous hardware options: cables in different lengths, M12 connectors, additional NVRAM, extended temperature range, 2-channel cards or separate network interfaces. A broad selection of device drivers and a free C-Toolkit are available. The continuous expansion of the cifX portfolio includes new standards, protocols and formats (e.g. M.2, mini PCIe half size, CC-Link IE Field) to meet market requirements.
