OverviewThe cifX PC card family provides a unified standard supporting Real-Time Ethernet and Fieldbus systems for PC-based automation. The protocol stack runs independently on the card and process data is exchanged with the host via Dual-Port Memory (DPM) or DMA. All cifX cards use the same driver and tools regardless of protocol or card format. The netX technology enables multiple Real-Time Ethernet protocols on a single hardware platform by loading different firmware.
