Overview
The cifX family of PC cards provides a unified standard that supports Real-Time Ethernet and Fieldbus systems for PC-based automation. The protocol stack runs independently on the PC card and process data is exchanged with the host via Dual-Port Memory or DMA. Thanks to the Hilscher platform strategy, all PC cards use the same driver and toolset regardless of protocol or card format. Hilscher netX technology enables implementation of all Real-Time Ethernet protocols on a single hardware platform; protocol changes are made by loading different firmware.
