Overview
The Vim®-1 vacuum cold-mounting system eliminates entrapped air from specimens to ensure mounting compound fully fills voids. This process improves edge integrity and provides stable support for fragile samples during grinding and polishing.

Operation
Place the specimen mold inside the vacuum chamber, mix the mounting compound thoroughly, position the mixing cup on the rotating holder and secure the vacuum chamber to the base. Pour the mounting compound into the mold, allow it to flow and fill completely, maintain vacuum for ~1 minute, release to atmospheric pressure and repeat the cycle several times. Open the chamber and allow the compound to cure under normal conditions.
