I. OverviewThe IQIEGE 7160S is a large, fully automated metallographic cutting machine designed for high-end laboratories and quality control departments that process large or complex specimens. It integrates a Siemens PLC with a touchscreen HMI and high-precision stepper motor drives to provide accurate feed control and reliable operation. The unit features a 1,240 mm × 780 mm cutting chamber and a 7.5 kW drive, enabling processing of large, high-hardness metallic and non-metallic samples such as large castings, composites, ceramics and petrographic specimens.
The machine uses an intelligent cutting logic that adjusts feed rate automatically based on current feedback to minimize scrap when working with expensive or difficult-to-cut materials. A parameter database stores up to 10 sets of cutting programs to facilitate batch processing and repeatable results.
