Overview
Mounting small, hard-to-handle or irregular metallographic and petrographic specimens provides a stable, flat sample for subsequent grinding, polishing, microscopic observation and hardness testing. The ixiang®-5S automates hot-press inlay preparation to reduce cycle time and improve repeatability.

Equipment Characteristics

• Integrated heating and cooling unit reduces mounting cycle to approximately 6 minutes to increase throughput.
• Cyclic jog-pressure control maintains and controls pressure during mounting to improve specimen quality and hardness consistency.
