Technical description
The Type 4017A pressure sensors use a piezoresistive Wheatstone bridge embedded in an oil-filled measuring cell to generate an electrical output proportional to applied pressure. A specially designed stainless-steel diaphragm provides high sensitivity across the pressure range and ensures excellent media compatibility. The piezoresistive principle allows measurement of both static and dynamic pressures with high frequency capability. Sensors are fitted with fully shielded cabling and anti-kink sleeving for mechanical protection. The integrated PiezoSmart function enables automatic sensor identification and automatic parametrization of the measurement chain, providing plug & play operation with compatible amplifiers. Digital temperature compensation is model-based: an individual sensor polynomial corrects the pressure output in real time according to sensor temperature, reducing temperature-induced zero-point and sensitivity errors without compromising signal bandwidth. Extension cables from the DS family are compatible and connections allow use with piezoresistive amplifiers Type 4624A (single channel), 4665B (SCP / KiBox) and 4667A (KiBox2).
