DescriptionThe sensing element is a silicon sensor mounted in a high-integrity seal assembly fully isolated from the pressure media by a welded 316L diaphragm. Measured pressure is transmitted through incompressible silicone oil to a micromachined silicon strain gauge configured as a Wheatstone bridge. Compared with metal-based strain gauge sensors, silicon provides higher sensitivity, better repeatability, improved signal-to-noise ratio, greater overload capability and superior long-term stability. The pressure assembly uses a patented sealing method (US Patent 7,373,827) that withstands multiple cycles without fatigue and allows flexible selection of pressure connections without adaptors or O‑rings. Integrated electronics condition the sensor output, perform temperature compensation and provide EMC, polarity, over-voltage and short-circuit protections. Each 4262A transmitter is fully tested over pressure and temperature; individual test reports are available and traceable to ISO 17025 and NIST.
