Description

Product Information
The BL i.MX6ULL/UL from Kontron Electronics is a modular CPU baseboard designed for embedded industrial applications. It ships with a pre-installed Embedded Linux image and a freely available Linux toolchain, enabling fast commissioning and streamlined development. The board family supports several processor module variants while maintaining a consistent hardware design for long-term availability.

Performance & Architecture
The board is offered with NXP i.MX6ULL (1x Arm® Cortex®-A7 @800 MHz) or i.MX6UL (1x Arm® Cortex®-A7 @528 MHz). Standard memory configurations include 512 MB DDR3 RAM and 512 MB NAND, with eMMC options from 4 GB up to 64 GB and a microSD slot for additional storage. The design simplifies DDR3 interfacing and supports multiple peripheral buses to reduce development complexity.

Communication Interfaces
The BL i.MX6ULL/UL provides industrial I/O and display support: RGB LCD interface, I²C and USB touch, Ethernet, USB hosts and OTG, serial ports (RS232/RS485), CAN 2.0B, digital and analog I/O, and expansion connectors for customization. These interfaces enable integration into diverse system environments.

Application Areas & Benefits
Suitable for IoT gateways, Industry 4.0 controllers, medical devices, and communication equipment where compact, low-power embedded controllers are required. The modular approach and scalable memory options reduce BOM complexity, shorten development cycles and facilitate product variants. Embedded Linux and the provided toolchain support flexible, license-free software development.
