The Kontron VX3406 is a high-performance 3U VPX Ethernet expansion card engineered for real-time, high-reliability, and data-intensive applications in harsh environments. Equipped with six independent 1G/2.5G Ethernet ports, it provides exceptional flexibility and bandwidth for mission-critical systems across defense, aerospace, transportation, and industrial sectors.
Featuring support for Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP), the VX3406 ensures accurate and deterministic communication between connected devices. It integrates a powerful 8-lane PCIe Gen3 switch, supports up to four Intel i225 and two Intel i210 Ethernet controllers, and delivers consistent low-latency performance.
The VX3406 is available in a rugged conduction-cooled version for extended temperature operations and optionally in an air-cooled variant. Industrial-grade Harting ix connectors, compliant with IEC 61076 standards, offer enhanced EMC protection and mechanical durability. For streamlined integration and simplified maintenance, an optional Rear Transition Module (RTM) brings all six Ethernet ports to the rear panel.
