Product overview
The VX6940 is a 6U VPX non-blocking L2/L3 switch built around a Broadcom® 72 × 10GbE high-density switch silicon with 100G uplink capability, delivering up to 720 Gb of aggregate I/O bandwidth. It complies with the VITA65 / SLT6-SWH-14F16U1U15U1J-10.8.1 slot profile and is available in air-cooled and conduction-cooled rugged versions. Rear optical connectivity is supported via the VITA65 P6/J6 aperture option. The module integrates with Kontron ARM and x86 computing nodes for embedded and mission-critical systems.

Ethernet & backplane
Front panel: dual 1000BASE-T (RJ45) + two QSFP28 supporting 100GBASE-KR4 + one QSFP+ supporting 40GBASE-KR4. Backplane: 2 × 100GBASE-KR4 and 15 × 40GBASE-KR4.

Cooling & front panel features
Available in VITA 47 air-cooled (0 to +55°C) and VITA 47 conduction-cooled CC-4 (-40 to +85°C) variants. Front panel includes RJ45 ports, QSFP28/QSFP+ cages, RJ11 serial connector, reset button and bicolour LEDs. Rear optical I/O supported via VITA65 P6/J6 aperture option.
