Product overviewExcelitas' line of Axsun Data Acquisition (DAQ) boards are designed and optimized specifically for swept-source OCT systems powered by Axsun swept lasers. The Axsun Integrated Engine solution integrates swept laser, k-clock generation, balanced photoreceivers, and high-speed data acquisition to simplify system integration and reduce the need to interface a 3rd-party general-purpose digitizer.
Integrated EngineThe Axsun Integrated Engine is available at either 1060 nm or 1310 nm and supports either 50 kHz or 200 kHz A-line rates. The integrated solution combines swept laser, k-clock, balanced photoreceivers, and a high-speed DAQ board to provide a compact, application-ready SS-OCT imaging engine.
Interfaces- Gigabit Ethernet DAQ: System simplicity and unmatched portability. Supports 2D/3D synchronization with galvanometers, MEMS scanners, or rotational probes over a wide range of frame rates. An on-board FPGA streams processed OCT images to offload the host CPU. Ethernet interface and tight integration with Axsun swept laser, k-clock, and balanced photoreceivers enable deployment on mobile computing platforms. Compatible with 1GbE–USB 3.0 interface converters (Realtek RTL8153-based) for USB 3.0-only host platforms.
- PCIe DAQ: The same hardware supports PCIe and Ethernet interfaces (both use the same API), allowing installation in a PCIe slot of a desktop PC and straightforward switching between interfaces.
- CameraLink DAQ: Provides a path to upgrade from spectrometer-based OCT systems to Axsun swept lasers while leveraging existing CameraLink frame grabbers and capture/processing software, useful for ophthalmic and other markets requiring enhanced depth and penetration.
Additional featuresBoards are 900 MS/s 12-bit data acquisition boards with flexible interface options and on-board FPGA-based OCT image processing. The SDK includes GUI tools, an API, and sample code to facilitate development. Simple scanner integration is provided via an Image_sync input.
