OverviewThe DRF Series are UV curing systems engineered for optical fiber and cable production. Models include DRF F6 (6-inch) and DRF F10T (10-inch) lamp modules. The systems use microwave-driven electrodeless lamps integrated with a secondary elliptical reflector to deliver focused, high-intensity UV irradiance for rapid, uniform curing of buffer coatings, coloring inks and ribbon matrix polymers.

Applications- Optical fiber buffer coating curing
- Coloring inks for fiber and cable
- Ribbon matrix polymer curing
- Cable marking and small-diameter cable processes
Additional informationThe DRF Series is optimized for continuous, high-speed UV curing in optical fiber manufacture. Electrodeless lamps reach maximum output within seconds and operate continuously with stable spectral output. The optical fiber passes through a sealed quartz tube located at the secondary focal point of the elliptical reflector to ensure full-surface exposure and minimal stray radiation.
Power & configurationsConfigurations support modules from compact ~1.8 kW units (e.g., F300S) up to high-power 6 kW systems (e.g., F600, LightHammer® 10H Mark II / LightHammer 10 Mark III). Some systems offer selectable or variable output ranges (example: 35%–100%). Multi‑lamp arrangements allow per-lamp switching to adapt curing energy to line speed or coating thickness.
Installation & coolingThe DRF Series uses an air-cooled push–pull airflow system with positive and negative-pressure blowers. The sealed quartz tube is isolated with a Teflon® gasket; housings include end plates for mounting fittings. Lamps may be mounted in any orientation; optional alignment kits and tool‑free observation options (F10T2) aid maintenance and process monitoring.
Notes and safetyLamps contain mercury. Handle and dispose in accordance with applicable local, state and federal regulations.
