Product OverviewThe C30902BH Avalanche Photodiode from Excelitas is a high-speed, large-area silicon reach-through APD providing high responsivity with low noise. It is designed for low-light applications that require typical gains larger than 100 and is offered in several TO-18 package configurations including flat glass, ball lens, light pipe and a 905 nm filter. The C30902BH uses a double-diffused “reach-through” structure delivering high responsivity between 400 nm and 1000 nm and extremely fast rise and fall times across the wavelength range. Responsivity is essentially independent of modulation frequency up to typically 800 MHz. The detector chip is hermetically sealed behind a flat glass window in a modified TO-18 package. The useful photosensitive diameter is 0.5 mm. The C30902 family also includes a Single-Photon capable APD (SPAD) variant that can be operated in Geiger mode and in linear mode at substantially higher gains.
