Product OverviewThe Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometer (ICP-AES) ICP-AES5000 performs multi-element quantification in liquid samples and in solid samples converted to solution by chemical treatment. Samples are nebulized to form an aerosol and introduced into the plasma torch where atoms and ions are excited and emit characteristic wavelengths. Dispersed spectral signals are detected by optoelectronic devices and converted to electrical signals proportional to element concentrations.
Key Uses- Quantitative analysis of metal elements in liquid samples
- Analysis of selected non-metallic elements in liquid matrices
- Analysis of solid samples after conversion to solution by chemical digestion
- Applications: environmental monitoring, industrial quality control and process monitoring
Working PrincipleThe sample solution is aerosolized and carried into the plasma torch where solvent evaporates and atoms/ions are excited. Emitted light is dispersed by the optical system and measured by detectors; signal intensities are translated into concentrations using calibration.
